For example, nano-titanium dioxide or nano-zinc oxide are found in sunscreens or cosmetic products with a sun protection factor. Both compounds are used for mineral \/ physical sun protection (UV filters). By using them in nano form, it is possible to design thinner creams that are easier to spread on the skin and thus increase protection.<\/p>\n<p>Other lotions, as well as deodorants and soaps, also contain nanomaterials. First and foremost, nano-silver should be mentioned. The precious metal is used here because of its antibacterial effect. It prevents unpleasant odors and has a disinfecting effect. In nano form, it has a particularly long service life, as the effective silver ions can be released over a longer period of time.<\/p>\n<p>Since July 2013, cosmetics containing ingredients in the form of nanomaterials must be labeled with the word \"nano\" - in brackets after the ingredient.
